Steps of Rivet Nut Installation
- Insert the rivet nut into the pre-drilled hole, ensuring that the head of the rivet nut is flush with the surface of the workpiece.
- Screw the pull rod of the rivet nut gun into the internal threads of the rivet nut, and hold the tool vertically.
- Activate the rivet nut gun and pull the rod to expand and deform the tail end of the rivet nut, clamping it securely to the workpiece.
- Once riveting is complete, retract the rod in the opposite direction. Check that the rivet nut is secure and confirm that the head is flush with the surface.

Full hex rivet nuts are frequently used in applications involving high torque, vibration, thin-gauge sheet metal connections, and repeated assembly and disassembly. Rivmate focuses on testing key metrics such as hex body size, thread quality, grip range, installation performance, spin-out resistance, and pull-out strength. This helps customers reduce assembly risks and enhance long-term reliability.
Applications of full hex rivet nuts
Full hex rivet nuts are suitable for sheet metal structures with specific requirements for fastening strength, anti-rotation performance, and assembly stability. Their full hexagonal shape allows them to effectively interlock with hexagonal holes after installation. Compared to standard round rivet nuts, they offer superior anti-rotation performance.

Automotive Parts Assembly
During automotive assembly, components are subject to vibration, repeated disassembly and reassembly, and high bolt tightening torques. The full hexagonal body of full hex rivet nuts engages with the hexagonal holes, thereby improving rotational stability.

Industrial Equipment Enclosures
This type of equipment has certain requirements for the stability of threaded connections. Full-hex rivet nuts provide more stable threaded fastening points for equipment panels that require repeated assembly and disassembly. They are suitable for frequent maintenance.

HVAC Equipment
HVAC equipment is subject to fan vibration, equipment vibration, and long-term outdoor or semi-outdoor use. Full hex rivet nuts are more suitable than standard round rivet nuts, providing a more stable threaded connection.

Agricultural Machinery
Agricultural machinery is often exposed to intense vibration, impact, dust, mud, and outdoor environments. Full hex rivet nuts are better suited for these harsh operating conditions. They make maintenance and disassembly more convenient and do not suffer from rotational failure.

What Are Full Hex Rivet Nuts?
Full hex rivet nuts are rivet nuts with a fully hexagonal outer body; they are also known as full hex body rivet nuts or full hex threaded inserts.
Before installing full hex rivet nuts, a hexagonal hole of the appropriate size must be machined into the sheet metal. The full hexagonal body fits snugly against the walls of the hexagonal hole, preventing the rivet nut from rotating inside the hole. Therefore, compared to standard round-body rivet nuts, full hex rivet nuts offer better resistance to rotation.
What are the main advantages of full hex rivet nuts?
1. Enhanced anti-rotation performance
Because the body of a full hex rivet nut features a full hexagonal structure, once installed in a hexagonal hole, it forms a mechanical lock with the hole walls
2. Suitable for High-Torque Assembly
In applications such as automotive components, industrial equipment, and electrical enclosures, rivet nuts often rotate along with the bolts during installation or maintenance. The full hex body of full hex rivet nuts enhances anti-rotation capability within the hole, effectively preventing this issue
3. Better Suited for Vibration and Repeated Maintenance Scenarios
In environments such as equipment operation, vehicle travel, fan operation, or mechanical vibration, connection points are subject to prolonged vibration. Full hex rivet nuts prevent loosening at connection points caused by vibration
