1 4 Monobolt Rivet 6.4mm Steel Dome Head Monbolt Rivet
The 1/4” Monobolt rivet is a high-strength, vibration-resistant, watertight Structural Blind Rivet and is used in a wide range of industrial applications where safety, sealing, and shear/tensile strength are critical.
- Size: 1/4” (6.4mm)
- Grip range: Commonly ranges from 0.062“ – 0.5” (1.6mm – 12.7mm).
- Material combinations: Nail body/stem can be all steel, stainless steel or aluminum alloy
- Head options: Dome, Large Flange, Countersunk (CSK).
- Watertight construction: Closed-End + Sealed mandrel locking system
Advantage of 1 4 Monobolt Rivets
- Structural Grades Strength: Tensile and shear resistance far exceeds that of ordinary blind rivets.
- Mandrel locking: mandrel is completely locked into the nail body, not easy to fall off, to avoid structural loosening.
- Strong sealing: support watertight and airtight, suitable for outdoor or liquid environment.
- Anti-vibration loosening: widely used in transportation, mechanical equipment, building steel structure.
- Strong adaptability of multi-layer material connection.
Installation Recommendations of 1 4 Monobolt Rivets
- Requires a structural nailer (e.g. P Series Pneumatic Gun with adjustable tension).
- Pull the mandrel completely off during installation and lock it, checking the “appearance of the core” to confirm.
- Recommended to use a tool with tension monitoring for consistency.
Certifications and Standards of 1 4 Monobolt Rivets
- Structural riveted products can be supplied in accordance with ISO 14589, IFI 114, RoHS, REACH requirements.
- PPAP, Material Traceability Reports, Failure Data, etc. are often included for high-end applications.
Recommended Application Scenarios
- Structural connection of commercial trucks and trailers
- Railroad vehicle body structure
- Fixing of sandwich panels for building structures
- Industrial cooling towers or vessel hermetic connections
- High vibration machinery, hoods, cabinet systems
What is the gripping range of the 1/4” Monobolt?
A: Grip range varies by model, commonly 0.062“-0.375” (1.6-9.5mm) or greater, and must be selected based on the actual total material thickness.
Is this product waterproof?
A: Yes, Monobolt is designed to make air/watertight closed connections, the key to this is the closed tail construction with the mandrel locking design.
Does it have structural strength? What is the tensile/shear strength?
A: Yes, it is a structural rivet. Typical tensile strengths for 1/4” steel Monobolt are 4,000-5,000 N and shear strengths can be over 3,000 N. Depending on the material and head type, the tensile and shear strengths can be in excess of 3,000 N. The tensile and shear strengths are based on the material and the head type. Values depend on material and head type.
Does it offer a design that prevents the mandrel from falling off?
A: Yes, Monobolt has a patented core structure that locks the core permanently inside the nail after installation, preventing it from loosening or falling out.
Does it support stainless steel?
A. Yes, Monobolt offers steel/steel, stainless steel/stainless steel, and stainless steel/steel combinations to meet the needs of corrosive environments or structural loads.
Do I need special tools for installation?
A: Yes. It is recommended to use a structural spigot gun (e.g. Stanley 74200 or Huck tool) with sufficient pulling force and mandrel locking capability.
